N-Hexene is a colorless liquid with a petroleum odor, a melting point of -140℃, a boiling point of about 63℃, a density of about 0.673g/cm³, and a flash point of -26℃. It is a flammable liquid. The carbon-carbon double bond of 1-hexene is very active and prone to addition, oxidation and polymerization reactions. N-Hexene is an important comonomer for the production of high-performance high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), and is also an important raw material for the production of fine chemicals such as fragrances, dyes, plasticizers, surfactants, fatty alcohols, etc.
