1. Storage & Handling
Ventilation: Use only in well-ventilated areas or with explosion-proof exhaust systems.
Temperature Control: Store below 30°C (86°F); keep away from heat sources.
Container Integrity: Use only UN-certified drums/tanks (avoid plastic containers).
2. Fire Safety
Extremely Flammable (Flash point: -51°C/-60°F)
Keep away from sparks/open flames (minimum 10m distance).
Approved extinguishers: CO₂, dry chemical powder, or foam.
Never use water jet (spreads fire).
3. Personal Protection
Mandatory PPE:
Chemical goggles + face shield
Flame-resistant gloves (e.g., nitrile rubber)
Air-purifying respirator (organic vapor cartridge) if ventilation is inadequate.
4. Leak Response
Small leaks: Absorb with inert material (sand, vermiculite).
Large spills:
Evacuate immediately.
Eliminate ignition sources.
Contain with spill berms (prevent entry into drains).
5. Health Hazards
Inhalation: Dizziness/nausea at >1000ppm; may cause CNS depression.
Skin Contact: Defats skin → dermatitis (wash immediately with soap/water).
First Aid:
Eyes: Flush with water for 15 mins → seek medical help.
Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting → give 200ml milk if conscious.
