N-octane is a colorless transparent liquid with the chemical formula C8H18 and CAS number 111-65-9. It has low water solubility, flammability and special odor. It is mainly used as a fuel component and is an environmentally friendly fuel. N-octane is also used as a solvent for printing inks, butyl rubber solvents, and organic reactions such as olefin polymerization, and can be used as a raw material for organic synthesis.
